Before prescribing alpha blocker treatment, a primary care physician should consider involving the cataract surgeon when treating a patient with a known diagnosis of cataract, suggests "educational update statement" issued by American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and American Academy of Ophthalmology in partnership with the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
