Midlife cholesterol levels impact AD risk in late life
Publish date: October 1, 2004
High-serum cholesterol at midlife (age 50) increases Alzheimer's disease (AD) risk in late life (age 70 and older), reports Miia Kivipelto, MD, PhD, of the University of Kuopio, Finland, who presented at the Alzheimer's conference. Researchers also found, however, that high cholesterol in late life does not necessarily lead to AD development.
