Backers of the new program are InnovationRx, APA, FDA's Office of Women's Health, and Pharmacists Planning Service
InnovationRx has started a medication adherence awareness program that targets California pharmacists and patients. The program
is designed to provide pharmacists with the resources needed to help ensure medication adherence. It's a collaboration between
InnovationRx, the American Pharmacists Association, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Office of Women's Health, and
the Pharmacists Planning Service, Inc.
"Pharmacists play an important role in advocating for a patient's health and medication adherence is a critical topic, including
the over and under utilization of medication, that should be regularly discussed with patients when dispensing medications,"
Paul Lofholm, president of the California Pharmacists Association, said.
